Yoga Therapy Reliably Relieves Chronic Tension

Restoring Ease and Suppleness In Your Body

leadershipI enjoy supporting people in learning how to manage their chronic pain. At some point, we all need to figure out how to live as comfortably in our bodies as is possible. This usually requires a commitment to make the ongoing effort to do so. Learning to listen to the messages your body constantly sends you means it doesn’t have to keep turning up the volume to get your attention. If you pay attention, you can slow down, before exhaustion or illness comes in.

  • Yoga Therapy releases the deepest tensions of the core muscles, starting at the tailbone and progressing up the spine, through the sacrum, waist, ribcage, neck and head.
  • Yoga Therapy is a one-on-one session, which allows the individual and therapist to focus on specific problems or needs.
  • The yoga therapist does all of the work, while the client simply lies in relaxation or supported poses.
  • One yoga therapy session is usually equivalent to four-six yoga classes.

Yoga Therapy uses one of two techniques, or a combination of both in any given session:

1. Yoga Poses Carefully selected poses are customized for each client for the most effective release of areas of the body that are frozen or shut down.

2. Embodyment® Yoga Therapy The tightest areas of your body, will be released, allowing the spine to decompress and realign.

Benefits of Yoga Therapy

Yoga offers a complete system of care for the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Millions of Americans live with chronic pain or other conditions that limit their capacity to live life to its fullest. If you are still struggling and have tried many approaches to healing– doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage, reiki, and whatever else, I invite you to give Svaroopa™ yoga therapy in a try. Even a single session creates a deeply restorative state. Many of us are chronically flooding ourselves with caffeine and sugar. We bathe our nervous systems with adrenaline and cortisol. We forget to breathe fully and deeply and hold our muscles in tight constricted positions. Yoga therapy reverses this. This approach:

  1. Quiets the mind
  2. Stress relief
  3. Relief of chronic neck and back pain
  4. Help any injury related pain that is chronic
  5. Lowers blood pressure
  6. Facilitates falling asleep & sleeping deeply
  7. Improves digestion
  8. Expands breathing capacity
  9. Balances the immune and nervous systems
  10. Helps with depression and anxiety
